The Tailings Laboratory focuses on developing sustainable and practical solutions for tailings management through innovation in dewatering, backfilling, and deposition. By integrating laboratory experimentation, field observation, and engineering analysis, we aim to improve water recovery, minimize environmental impact, and ensure the long-term safety of tailings storage. Our interdisciplinary research in geotechnical, hydraulic, and rheological behavior underpins technologies such as tailings thickening, filtration, optimized paste backfill, dry stacking, and co-disposal.
