Social Belonging in Introductory STEM Classes
STEM Education
We focus on improving student learning and belonging, particularly in introductory STEM courses. In collaboration with STEM faculty, we investigate course structures and instructional practices that foster supportive classroom environments where all students can thrive. Our work also integrates evidenced-based study strategies to help students develop more effective learning behaviors. Currently, we are studying both General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry courses. Ultimately, our goal is to support faculty in designing classroom environments and curricula that enable all students to succeed in and enjoy STEM.
